The British version of this time-travel police drama only lasted 2 seasons. But, hey, that’s a long time for British TV! The American re-make didn’t make it past one, which is a shame as it managed a convincing transatlantic makeover of the 70s nostalgia and kitsch fun of the original.

Another David Milch series aborted after one season. This time it was the producers’ concerns for animal welfare that left this horse-racing melodrama barely out of the gate. Two horses died in production, and that wasn’t a hit rate they wanted to continue. It was bad luck for good television.
